Cancellation policy

Last updated 16 May 2026.

Plans change. We understand. Cancellation charges depend on how far ahead of departure you let us know. All timings are relative to your tour's scheduled departure time.

1

7 or more days before departure: No charge, full refund.

2

5–7 days before departure: 30% of the total cost.

3

3–4 days before departure: 50% of the total cost.

4

Within 48 hours, or no-show: 100% of the total cost.

If we cancel for weather

The skipper has the final say on whether sea and weather conditions are safe. If we cancel a departure for weather, you choose: reschedule for another date, or take a full refund of everything you've paid. No charge either way.

How to cancel

Email booking@blue-cave-tours.com or message us on WhatsApp with your name and tour date. We confirm every cancellation in writing.

The deposit and your refund

A deposit holds the date and the balance is paid on the day of the tour, so cancelling before departure never involves us collecting anything further from you. Where a refund is due it goes back to the card that paid, and banks typically take five to ten working days to show it. We do not keep a processing fee on top.

Moving the date instead of cancelling

Changing to another date in the same season costs nothing if there is room on the boat, and outside the July and August peak there usually is. Ask as early as you can: the closer to the date, the fewer options we have. A move is almost always a better outcome than a cancellation for both sides.

What happens to the Blue Cave entrance fee

The cave fee is not ours to refund. It is €18 to €24 per person, collected in cash on Bisevo by the authority that runs the cave, and it is never included in the tour price. If the day is cancelled before departure you simply never pay it. If we reach Bisevo and the cave has closed for weather while we are there, it is not charged either, because you do not go in. Nobody is ever out of pocket for a cave they did not enter.

Late arrivals and no-shows

The boat leaves at the stated time. On the Blue Cave route that is not us being strict: the light inside the cave has a window and the queue of boats at the entrance does not wait. A guest who misses departure counts as a no-show. If you are running late, phone rather than email: knowing about it, we can sometimes hold a few minutes.

If only part of your group cancels

Dropping two people from a booking of eight is a change, not a cancellation, and on a group tour it is charged by seat under the notice periods above. On a private charter the price is for the boat, so the total does not move when the headcount does: the per-person figure simply rises. Tell us either way, because the crew provisions water and gear by headcount.
